Description

La Petit Mas Paradou is located in a natural setting and a very quiet environment not far from the typical Provençal village of Paradou, this authentic little farmhouse has recently been completely restored with care and taste. A success, a very beautiful alliance between an old Mas with stone walls and a contemporary decoration,

A comfortably furnished living room and a very well equipped kitchen and it’s 4 beautiful spacious bedrooms with the two parental suites, are remarkably and tastefully decorated which meet all expectations.


La Petit Mas Paradou offers approximately 150m² of living space on 2 levels. On the ground floor there is a large living room with comfortable and soft velvet sofas a large table & TV

A fully equipped kitchen with all  modern appliances  including a dining area

On this floor there is a double bed 150cm with a bathroom with bath and walk-in shower and has direct access to the terrace and the south-facing garden.

On the first floor 3 further bedrooms, two double bedrooms one with a shower room and the other sharing with the fourth bedroom accommodating up to 8 guests

 

Outside the stone farmhouse “Mas” is surrounded by Mediterranean essences, cypress, oleander, lavender…a stone table, deckchairs, armchairs, deck chairs…for a setting.

 

Although intimate, the land hosts a charming courtyard with flower beds which also surround the pretty pond and combine the charm of the stone and the modernity of the doors and windows on the ground floor.

Sheltered from the mistral, facing south, a long terrace that smells of Provence is nestled right up against the farmhouse. In the south of France, in spring and summer, it is transformed into an outdoor lounge/ living area! You can have lunch there with your family, dine with friends, relax on a deck chair or read a book in the sun, in short, you spend a considerable amount of time there.

And to protect yourself from the heat of summer, a touch full of charm... a pergola invites itself there, a natural screen that blends into the decor and offers its generous shade to a magnificent round table, an accomplice of the barbecue and its famous grills which frequently invite themselves to our summer meals.

To refresh one self there is a small 5m x 4m pool, flat bottom depth of 1.45m, chlorine filtration, secured by an alarm.

Magnificently located 500 meters on foot from the small village of Paradou and the shops, and also to the famous “Bristo de Paradou”  where they serve Provençal specialties in a warm setting with stone and exposed beams and a tree-lined terrace. (one must book as it is extremely popular) otherwise 2.5 kilometres you are in the centre of the charming village of Maussane-les-Alpilles which is a typical colourful bustling Provencal Village with lots of ambiance has all the amenities, boulangeries, quaint pavement cafes and excellent restaurants, shops and a weekly market on Thursday providing an opportunity to discover local products.

 

Just a little further Saint Remy de Provence is a lively charming classical little town capital of the Alpilles, it has all the amenities, boulangeries, little boutiques, quaint pavement cafes and excellent restaurants, its winding cobbled lanes you will discover the small squares, historic buildings, churches and museums and on Wednesday the colourful weekly market will offer the opportunity to discover local products and handicrafts which is a must to see. The birthplace of the 16th Century astrologer Nostradamus and just outside the town is the impressive Greco-Roman archaeological site of Glanum.  Also nearby is the beautiful retreat where Van Gough painted. Villages such as Les Baux de Provence and Fontvielle and the remote and mysterious wetlands of the Camargue (one of Europe’s most important nature reserves, known especially for its pink flamingos, fighting bulls and wild horses) and all around the scent of rosemary, thyme and lavender.

 

A short 25 minutes drive north is the beautiful walled city of Avignon - a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the medieval city of Popes, with the biggest gothic palace in the world.

Pont de Guard – also a World Heritage Site – the incredible triple height aqueduct bridge built by the Romans, which delivered pure water to the Roman baths and fountains at Nîmes to the west, with its impressive Roman arena.

To the south, the city of Arles with its roman arena (holdings 20,000 spectators) and the nearest beach at St. Maries de la Mer (¾ hour’s drive).

 

There is also excellent riding, cycling and walking in the Alpilles hills close to St Remy and Les Baux de Provence. Bicycles can be hired in several local villages and there are a number of nearby livery stables.
